Roles & Responsibilities

UKUATogether responsibilities

  • Review and action relevant Applications for UK Hosts and Ukrainian Refugees

 

  • Have Video calls with potential UK Hosts and Ukrainian Refugees to further assess their applications

 

  • Set up a communication channel between UK Host and Ukrainian Refugee (usually a WhatsApp chat), hold introduction calls

 

  • Match Potential UK Hosts to Ukrainian Refugees

 

  • Prepare and submit visa applications on behalf of matched UK Host and Ukrainian Refugee

 

  • Offer advice and information (via our website) on aspects to do with the ‘Homes for Ukraine’ Scheme

 

  • Keep all information in line with GDPR standards in UK

 

  • Accept donations for financial and humanitarian support

 

  • Provide financial and humanitarian support to Ukrainian Refugee families where needed

 

  • Provide post arrival support to both UK Host and Ukrainian Refugee family to settle in the UK

UK Host Responsibilities

  • Register your interest with the Government ‘Homes for Ukraine’ scheme and our UKUATogether website

  • Ensure your lodgings comply with your local council’s health and safety standards and guidelines to accept families 

  • Ensure you have completed DBS Checks

  • Provide information to UKUATogether to enable visa application

  • Communicate  and participate in introduction calls with your matched Ukrainian Refugee family

  • Agree Travel Arrangements with your Ukrainian Refugee to get them to UK

  • Identify local schools, GP, Bank, JobCentre Plus (where Ukrainian Refugees can receive benefits)

  • Support your Ukrainian Refugee in registering for all the essential services

  • Tap into your local Ukrainian network for support!

Ukrainian Refugee Responsibilities 

  • Register on UKUATogether site

  • If you have a pet ensure the pet is microchipped, has a pet passport 

  • Participate  in the communication channel between you and your potential UK Host (usually a WhatsApp chat), hold introduction calls

  • Provide information to UKUATogether to enable visa application

  • Communicate and participate in introduction calls with your matched UK Host family 

  • Think about what job you may be qualified to do when you arrive in the UK

  • Prepare your CV in English

  • Learn some basic English phrases to use on arrival!

Please Note: UKUATogether: 

 

  • Can not give advice on schools, GPs, Hospitals and other essential services

  • Can not lodge pet passports or offer services for pet quarantine

  • Can not provide financial assistance to all Ukrainian Refugee and UK Host families

  • Can not lodge council or DBS checks

  • Can not support Ukrainians seeking accomodation under the Family scheme
